Install latest MDT automatically

When working with deployment you often need to setup Microsoft Deployment Toolkit.
This can take some time. To find the right install files and then install it.

But there is another way.
The PowerShell way with Chocolatey.

Just start PowerShell as Administrator.
And run the following line.

Now we have Chocolatey installed.

Then we need to install the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit.

The Windows ADK Chocolatey package can be found here.

and when this is installed we can install the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit package.

This package can be found here.

My Install-MDTCore.ps1 script can be found at my PowerShell Github repository.
In the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit folder.

Thanks to the authors of the Chocolatey packages.
They are very nice!

Nice, an even more “powershell:y” way of doing the same thing, without having to use invoke-expression and call external commands would be to install chocolatey as a PS Provider:
    install-package –provider bootstrap chocolatey

and then just use Find-Package WindowsADK | Install-Package -force
